"Smart Road" number boxes are small devices—mini computers with built-in AI—that can be installed on roads and intersections to monitor traffic in real time. They work with existing vision architecture or dedicated cameras. Data is sent in real time directly to the IoT platform of business partner Orange Polska S.A.

The device is connected to cameras at the intersection and continuously collects images from them, which it analyzes locally using built-in artificial intelligence. The measurement results are then automatically sent to the IoT Live Objects cloud, where they can be viewed anywhere, anytime, using a standard browser.
The figure shows the operation of the entire system, where the user can look at a single installation as well as the cloud with a map of devices and results.

📏 You can define measured cross-sections of a road or all possible traffic pairs at an intersection. Receive data on relationships directly to the cloud. Monitor pedestrian flows and traffic counts.
Traffic cross-sections are virtual measurement lines that you can precisely plan along road sections or intersection edges. Liczbox uses AI to detect and classify vehicles within these lines, collecting data on traffic flow, volume, and relationships between directions.
Define the sections and you will get all the pairs of motion relations.
🗺️Thanks to the measurement area functionality, you will find out how long the queues at traffic lights are, how long the waiting times are, and you will be able to examine parking zones in the city.
Measurement areas are defined spatial regions within which the system tracks moving and parked vehicles. Using these areas, Liczbox calculates queue length, waiting time, vehicle turnover, and changing parking zone load.
Each area counts the total and instantaneous number of objects.
Liczbox takes the best parts from the AITrack software.
The NVIDIA hardware platform has the performance for real-time processing.

The main goal of the project is to create software for an embedded platform that will enable real-time vehicle and pedestrian recognition, tracking, and counting from RTSP video streams from surveillance cameras. After processing the video data, the software will continuously send measurement data to the IoT platform of business partner Orange Live Objects and enable remote configuration. Liczbox is a fusion of hardware, software, and AI, capable of processing video into numerical and measurement data. Liczbox – access to visual measurements for every city. For your safety and mine. The leading goal of the project's sustainable development is "Making cities and human settlements safe, stable, sustainable, and socially inclusive."
Potential recipients include the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways, road authorities, counties, municipalities and cities looking for intelligent monitoring solutions.
